The Boone Toreadors boys’ wrestling team had three individual champions and finished second overall with 158.5 points, just behind Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, at the Bill Van Horn Invitational in Pella on Saturday, December 20.
At 106 lbs, Easton Landas (8-0) continued his undefeated season, claiming first place.
Landas opened with a tech fall in the quarterfinals, advanced on injury default in the semis, and sealed the title with a 4-2 decision.
At 132 lbs, Ajay Braddock (8-0) won all three matches by technical fall, including a decisive 19-3 victory in the finals.
At 165 lbs, Brody Warrick (9-0) dominated his bracket, scoring two tech falls and a pin before taking the championship by medical forfeit.
Owen Thomas (150 lbs) battled to a 4th-place finish.
Aiden Harris (113 lbs) and Mason Oostenink (120 lbs) both placed 5th.
Trent Eckard (175 lbs) also claimed 5th, highlighted by a tech fall in his final match.
Anthony Heenan (138 lbs) and Macon Robinson (190 lbs) fought hard for 6th-place finishes.
Issac McCloud (126 lbs) secured 7th with a pin in his final bout.
