
The Madrid Tigers girls’ basketball team came up short in a 45–37 road loss to Earlham on Friday, January 30.
Laura Eagleton led Madrid, scoring 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting while knocking down two three‑pointers.
Eagleton also pulled down four rebounds, added two assists, and recorded a block and a steal.
Samantha Springer provided an outside spark with nine points, all coming from deep as she hit three three‑pointers.
Springer also added two assists.
Mayzie Surratt had seven points, highlighted by a three‑pointer and a perfect 2‑for‑2 at the free‑throw line.
She also led Madrid on the boards with five rebounds.
Lauren Dvorak contributed four rebounds, a block, and two steals.
Audrey Brown had six assists.

Madrid fell at Panorama Tuesday, January 27, 49–39 in conference play.
Eagleton scored 21 points and knocked down 9 of 10 foul shots while adding two three‑pointers.
She also contributed four rebounds and a block.
Dvorak scored eight points on 4‑of‑7 shooting and a game‑high 14 rebounds, including two offensive boards.
Dvorak also added a block and two steals.
Surratt added four points on 2‑of‑5 shooting and chipped in one assist.
Springer collected four rebounds had three assists to just one turnover.
Brown had five assists.
The Tigers fall to 8–9 overall and 2–9 in the West Central Conference, while Earlham improves to 14–4 overall and 9–2 in league play.
Madrid will look to bounce back quickly as they return home tonight to host West Central Valley (7–11, 4–8) at Madrid High School.
