
The Boone girls’ and boys’ soccer teams were both in action Wednesday, April 15, facing Ballard in a pair of matches that produced mixed results for the Toreadors.
Girls game
The Boone girls traveled to Huxley to take on Ballard and earned a 1–1 tie.
Boone’s goal came from Delaney Good, which was a free kick from 35 yards out.
Boys game
The Boone boys were home at Goeppinger Field, where Ballard posted a 10–0 victory, scoring four goals in the first half and adding six more in the second half.
Goalkeeper Lincoln Buchwald recorded 12 saves while allowing 10 goals, finishing the night with a 54.5 percent save rate.
Ballard improved to 2‑4 on the season, while Boone fell to 0‑5.
The Boone boys will host Newton (0‑7) on Friday, April 17, at Goeppinger Field.
The Boone girls return to the road Friday as well, traveling to face Perry (2‑2).
