BOONE, Iowa—Wayne Lynch, a third-generation Boone County farmer and lifelong resident, is running for the Boone County Board of Supervisors. With years of community leadership experience, he is running for County Supervisor with plans to strengthen our County by bringing common-sense values to the office; supporting people, projects and policies that put Boone County first.
As a graduate of United Community School and Iowa State University, Wayne has spent more than 25 years working for Smithfield Foods, where he developed a strong foundation in agriculture and business. In addition to his professional career, Wayne and his family own and operate a local auctioneering business, crop farm, and raise pigs. He and his wife, Julie, have proudly lived in Boone for nearly 30 years, raising their family in the community they call home.
Wayne is deeply committed to giving back. He has served on the Boone County Fair Board for over 25 years, and volunteers with 4-H and FFA. He and his family are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also regularly supports local charities by auctioneering at fundraising events.
As a candidate for County Supervisor, Wayne’s priorities include:
- Keep property taxes low to ensure Boone County remains an affordable place to live and work.
- Manage tax dollars responsibly to provide strong community resources
- Maintain a balanced approach to serving both rural and urban residents
- Implement and support policies that keeps the interests of agriculture and local farmers at the forefront
- Support Law Enforcement and Public Safety Services
Wayne will keep taxes low, while also providing needed resources to our county by being fiscally responsible with all tax dollars. Spending will be evaluated on the basis of need and benefit to our community and its members. Wasteful spending will be eliminated.
As someone who lives within the City limits of Boone and also owns a business and farms in Boone County, Wayne is familiar with both County and City operations. Building bridges between both the City and County lawmakers can be cost saving and efficient for both entities. Wayne will lead this cooperative effort that would be a great benefit for all citizens.
Wayne understands the agricultural heritage of our county and its importance for our county’s future growth. As a farmer himself, Wayne is regularly communicating with local farms and agricultural businesses. As a Supervisor, he will increase his communication efforts with those in the agricultural community, and encourage their input on County projects & policies.
Lastly, Wayne supports efforts by our local law enforcement to keep our county safe for all citizens. His long established working relationships with Police, Fire, and Sheriff department leadership will be a great aid in keeping lines of communication open between all departments.
Wayne knows Boone County is a wonderful place to raise a family, grow a business, and continue the legacy of family farming. He is dedicated to bring those values to the Boone County Board of Supervisors and serve the community with integrity and dedication.
