
The Ogden baseball team kicked off its 2026 season Tuesday, May 19, defeating Collins-Maxwell 5-2 on the road at Collins-Maxwell High School.
Ogden wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, scoring one run in the first inning to grab an early lead.
The Bulldogs added another in the third inning, then broke the game open with three runs in the fourth to build a 5-0 advantage.
Collins-Maxwell mounted a late push with two runs in the seventh inning, but Ogden’s pitching staff held firm to secure the win.
Senior Treyton Mitchell turned in a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a double, and a stolen base.
Senior Keagan Ristvedt added two hits, scored a run, and was aggressive on the bases with three stolen bases
Junior Thomas Bergstrom contributed two hits, including a double, and drove in a run
Senior Brody Burdette chipped in with a hit and a stolen base
Ogden also got runs from senior Christian Thede, freshman Ben Snedden, and sophomore Logan Ryan, who crossed the plate twice.
Senior Colson Carson earned the win, striking out seven batters over three innings while not allowing a run.
Mitchell followed with a strong relief outing, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, and Burdette added three more strikeouts to close things out.
In total, Ogden pitchers struck out 13 batters.
The Bulldogs improved to 1-0 on the season while Collins-Maxwell is 0-2.
Ogden will turn its attention to its home opener, as the Bulldogs are set to host Perry (0-1) tonight at 7 p.m.
