
The Boone girls’ soccer team earned a 5-2 non-conference victory over Des Moines East at Goeppinger Field Tuesday, May 19.
Boone scored three goals in the first half to take control of the match.
They added two more goals in the second half to extend the lead before Des Moines East found the back of the net twice in the second half.
Whitney Chesnut led the attack with two goals and one assist, putting seven shots on goal.
Macy Chesnut, Emmalyn Thomas and Jaelyn Addy each added a goal.
Goalkeeper Reese Majors made eight saves while allowing just two goals for an 80% save percentage.
The Toreadors improved to 4-7-4 on the season while Des Moines East fell to 4-9-1.
Boone will look to carry that momentum forward as it hits the road for its next challenge, traveling to face Newton (6-8-1) tonight.
