
The Boone baseball team ran into a tough Raccoon River Conference opponent Wednesday, June 24, falling 12–1 to North Polk at Memorial Park.
The Toreadors managed five hits in the contest with Levi Behn leading the offense with a pair of hits and driving in the team’s lone run.
Tyce Carlson, Noah Gorman and Cole Christeson each added a hit, while Henry Wright accounted for Boone’s only run scored.
Starting pitcher Gorman was charged with the loss, and Ryan Bowers and Braxton Gifford each recorded a strikeout in relief.
Boone fell to 11-8 overall and 6-6 in the conference while North Polk improved to 15-7 overall and 7-3 in the conference.
The Toreadors travel to Slater to face Ballard (15-8 overall, 7-4 conference) in another conference matchup tonight at the Nite Hawk Baseball Diamond.
