BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Attorney Matt Speers’ Office provides a summary of court cases involving the Boone County Attorney’s office. This week’s summary includes sentencing for a few felony cases.

COURT SUMMARIES

9-28-25 – 10-9-26

– Joseph Zane Jameson, 32, Ogden, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class B Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 25 years with a mandatory minimum 12.5 years before being eligible for parole. The defendant was also given a special sentence and ordered to register on the Sex Offender Registry for life. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Trevor Lee King, 27, Ames, was sentenced by the District Court following pleas of guilty to Burglary 2nd, a Class C Felony; Operating Motor Vehicle Without Owners Consent, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and, OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Keely Marie Trammel, 29, Des Moines, was sentenced by the District Court following a plea of guilty to Burglary 3rd, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison, all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Shane Robin Hoskins, 40, Fort Ripley, appeared in District Court and was found to have violated the terms of his probation. On the violation, the defendant was found in Contempt and ordered to serve 90 days in jail.

– William Allen Corson, 40, Pilot Mound, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Harassment 1st, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years prison, all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Bryant James Margetta, 40, Jefferson, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Burglary 3rd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years prison, all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Corey Alexander Puski, 28, Boone, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant also received a deferred judgment on a Possession of Marijuana, Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with all but 10 days suspended. On the suspended portion and deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The cases were investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Boone Police Department.

– Melanie Lynn Hasley, 58, Boone, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with all but 4 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include a mental health evaluation with follow through of treatment plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Ivan James Burkheimer II, 55, Madrid, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Eluding 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year all suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to completion of a driving class plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Brenda Kay Baustian, 64, Granger, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison, with all but 7 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Nathan Cole Woodard, 28, Roland, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison, with all but 7 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. – Amanda Lynn Romero, 46, Hubbard, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. – Kohl Brian Anderson, 27, Boone, was sentenced by the in the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. – Timothy Allen Gibbard, 31, Knoxville, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 10 days in jail plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Amanda Nicole Teter, 34, Ankeny, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
