
Boone’s tennis players turned in a solid showing at the Class 1A State Co-Ed Tennis Tournament Tuesday, June 9, in Pella, with both Toreador mixed doubles teams finishing among the top 16.
The annual state meet, held at Caldwell Park, featured 31 mixed doubles teams from across Iowa competing in a one-day bracket format.
Boone’s team of Calvin Jordan and Livi Schnieder picked up a pair of wins for the day.
They defeated a team from Clarke of Osceola before losing to a team from Waterloo Columbus Catholic.
They ended their day beating a team from Iowa Falls-Alden on their way to a top-16 finish.
The second Toreador duo of Strummer Grout and Kaylee Kuehl also earned a first-round victory, sweeping a team from Iowa Falls-Alden before falling in a tight match to a team from Shenandoah that was decided in a third-set tiebreak.

With two teams placing in the top half of the bracket, Boone capped its 2025-26 season with a strong performance at state.
