
The Boone softball team scored eight runs in the first inning and never looked back, rolling to a 14-1 non-conference victory over Perry in four innings Thursday, June 2, on the road.
Perry answered with its lone run in the bottom of the inning.
Boone added four more runs in the third inning and tacked on two in the fourth to finish off the victory.
Kaylee Kuehl launched a three-run home run and finished with one hit, one run scored and three RBIs.
Halle Bailey had three hits, including a double, and she scored twice, drove in two runs and stole a base.
Claire Hardinger collected two hits, scored twice and knocked in a run, while Hailee Bingham added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
Finley Houser also recorded a pair of hits for the Toreadors.
Noell Davidson contributed a hit, a run scored and two RBIs.
Hadley Gustafson finished with a hit, a run scored and an RBI, while Gracie Vodenik added a hit and RBI.
Harper Kuehl had a hit and scored a run.
Brooke Weisbrod and Abigail Leu each crossed the plate once as Boone piled up 14 runs on the night.
Tenley Williams earned the complete-game victory, striking out three batters while limiting Perry to a single run.
The win improved Boone to 14-14 overall.
Perry fell to 4-19 on the season.
The Toreadors, now 4-11 in Raccoon River Conference play, will wrap up their home schedule, conference slate and regular season on Monday, July 6, when they host No. 6-ranked Winterset (20-12 overall, 10-5 conference) at Gary Creasman Field.
