Dr. Julie Trepa, Superintendent, Boone Community School District. Trepa talks about the Boone School Board meeting. First we talked about absenteeism and attendance due to illness. She says absenteeism is up due to illness. She also encourages parents not to send sick children to school. She talked about next year’s school calendar. The Board adopted it Monday. There are no more early outs on Wednesday’s in the 25-26 school year. She also talks about the budget work the Board will be addressing, noting that 2% increases in funding from the state can’t keep up 3% and 4% increases in the cost operating. He notes the progress being made but how much more could be done. Roosa talked about the recent change in picking recyclables from business locations and what needs to be done to improve that service. Rehearsals for the two dozen member cast have been underway for sometime and the productions are scheduled for February 27th, 28th, March 1st and March 6th, March 7th and March 8th. The family oriented production will also feature a Birthday Party prior to each performance and during each intermission. Aired Monday, February 03, 2025.

Through December the hospital saw increased patient numbers and revenue on the inpatient side. The number were some of the highest in two years, with a lot of respiratory cases and an increase in flu cases. The trend has continued into the new calendar year. The number of births in the past calendar year at 130 and near that number expected in 2025.
