KWBG 07/24/26

Jason Danner, 54, Boone, Iowa

BOONE, Iowa—Jason Danner, 54, of Boone, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at his home.

Jason was born January 2, 1972, in Carroll, the son of Verlin and Phyllis (Becker) Danner. He graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School in 1990, then received his AA degree from Iowa Central Community College in May 1992. In December 1994, Jason received his bachelor’s degree in Ag Business from Iowa State University.

While attending Iowa State, Jason met Monica Stangl. They were united in marriage on July 6, 1996, in Manning, Iowa.

Jason worked in the agronomy field at several co-ops throughout Iowa before moving to Boone and joining Heartland Co-op, where he was still employed.

Jason was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years, he played slow-pitch softball. He had a passion for classic cars, especially Corvettes, and took great pride in keeping all his vehicles spotless. He was equally meticulous about maintaining a perfectly manicured lawn. He was an avid Cyclones fan, religiously attending football and basketball games—a tradition he began with his family when the girls were young. Jason was also a fan of Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, and his favorite quote was, “We coming.” He enjoyed riding his bike, supporting his daughters in all their sports, and coaching them whenever he could. Above all else, Jason cherished time with Monica and the girls, especially when they were traveling together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Phyllis Danner.

Jason is survived by his wife of 30 years, Monica Danner; two daughters, Madyln Danner and Natalee Danner; eight siblings, Sandy (Jim) Speer, Sheryl Draves, Kevin (Lori) Danner, Mark (Gretchen) Danner, Keith (Suzy) Danner, Scott (Diane) Danner, Todd (Amy) Danner, and Joel (Janelle) Danner; father- and mother-in-law, Larry and Susan Stangl; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Andy (Carissa) Stangl, Kristie (Sam) Lockhart, and Aaron (Abbey) Stangl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 915 12th Street, Boone, IA 50036, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the church, with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and mailed to Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, c/o Jason Danner Family, P.O. Box 15, Boone, IA 50036.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left for Jason’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com.
