The Madrid girls’ cross country team turned in a fourth-place finish at the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Invitational on Thursday, September 24.
Madrid scored 101 points, finishing behind champion West Marshall, which totaled 58 points.
Winterset was second with 74 points, while Ballard took third with 80.
The Tigers were led by Madelyn Grothus, who finished third overall with a time of 19:23.50.
Hannah Brandhorst also had a strong performance, placing 11th in 20:22.10.
Charis Peasley was Madrid’s third finisher, taking 26th in 22:13.70.
Jordyn Adams placed 37th with a time of 23:15.20, while Adelyn White completed Madrid’s team scoring with a 40th-place finish in 23:23.40.
Alaina Dvorak finished 52nd in 24:08.80, and Ari Mundy was 58th in 24:34.80.
Ella Hutchinson placed 77th with a time of 25:55.70, while Kimee Smith finished 99th in 26:52.60.
Madrid finished ahead of 11 other teams in the 15-team field.

The Tigers will return to action at the Ogden Invitational at Don Williams Golf Course on Monday, September 28, beginning at 5:10 p.m.
