05/11/26
Officer received a complaint of an overgrown yard at 4th and Main Street. Officer contacted a subject that he believed was the owner. He stated that the property is in foreclosure after the death of a family member. He stated that he would go mow it and then bring up the information of the bank so that the city can contact to try and prevent this from being an issue all summer.
Officer returned a call in reference to a child custody case. Mom was living out-of-state and stated that her mother was not planning on returning her son to her, even though she got custody back for him. Officer will speak to the grandma and get additional information and then return the call to the mom. Officer was unable to locate grandma so he left a business card on the door for her to call him. Officer will follow-up tomorrow.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident in reference to a pesky raccoon doing mischief inside her shed. Officer informed her that he would drop off a live trap the following day to trap the birdseed thief and relocate him to the river.
Officer was called to Dollar General for an assault between two family members, one being a juvenile. The adult had left the scene already. Officer gave the juvenile a ride home and told him to call when his mom got home so they could have a meeting on the incident.
Officer returned call to the Boone County Attorney’s Office for follow up on case going to trial.
Officer responded to the 100 block of North Kennedy Avenue, to assist with a medical emergency.
Officer responded to the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, for a complaint of juveniles on bikes possibly throwing trash in someone’s yard. Officer made contact with the caller, the juveniles on bikes and the parents of the juveniles. It was discovered that this is an ongoing issue between residents more than the juveniles’ causing issues. Advised all parties involved of complaints.

Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East 2nd Street for a medical call. Officer stood-by with the patient with Madrid Fire/Rescue, until Boone County Ambulance arrived and took over treatment.
Officer was called to the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, after receiving a call from staff that were threatened by a home-owner there. Officer made contact with all subjects involved and assisted with exchanging information from both sides. Officer was assisted by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy.
Officer spoke to a property owner and then the UPS driver, after he dropped a large package off at the wrong business. The item was picked up and redelivered to the correct address.
Officer followed up on a child custody issue. Officer spoke to both involved parties and exchanged information between the two. Officer worked out the issue and advised both to call back with any other questions or concerns.
Officer was dispatched for a fire hydrant by Dollar General spraying. Officer called the street department to check if there was an issue.
Officer was dispatched to a semi that hit a power wire in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street. Officer exchanged information between the driver and property owner that damage was done. Officer had Boone County dispatch call Alliant Energy to come and fix the downed wire.
Officers responded to the 500 block of East Sixth Street to assist with a medical emergency.
Officer responded to the Madrid Police Department to take a report from a Bondurant resident for burglary to a vehicle.
Officer responded to the 100 block of North Union, for a report of possible harassment/extortion over the internet. It was found that the issue was a scam attempt.

Officer received a call from a Madrid resident about a raccoon in a trap that was placed due to him doing damage. Officer relocated him to the river to live a happy life.
Officer was called by Meal’s on Wheel’s staff, in reference to a client that could be seen through the window but would not come to the door. The officer made contact with the subject, and after a long period of knocking and ringing the doorbell, the subject answered the door and checked out OK.
Officer made contact with (3) juveniles in an abandoned building downtown. Officer warned them that if they were caught there again that they would be charged with trespassing.
Officer received a call from a Madrid resident concerned with parking on Veterans Square; Officer was advised the vehicles in question had been there for some time. Officer was able to get ahold of the owners of the vehicles to which they promptly moved them.
Officer was notified of a leaking fire hydrant by the high school; this is planned by the city to relieve pressure that comes from the water tower being shut down for maintenance. There are several hydrants throughout the city with valves placed on them to relieve pressure when needed.

Officer was dispatched to a medical call in the 400 block of Newton Road. Officer assisted Boone County Ambulance with the patient. Patient was transported for treatment.
Officer gave a reminder notification to a downtown landlord about the road closure for Saturday, for the downtown farmer’s market.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance, with a medical call in the 700 block of West 1st Street.
Officer was called back to the 700 block West 1st Street, for a domestic situation. Upon arrival Officer discovered it was a verbal disagreement regarding relationship status. Officer spoke to all parties and agreed on a resolution for the evening. They were advised there are some personal decisions they will have to make in the future.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Jonathan Drive, for a report of a suspicious male walking through yards. Dispatch advised the male walked north through the fields. Officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.
05/15/26
Subject came in to the police department to complain about an alley being blocked near the 600 block of West 4th Street. Officers responded to check the alleyway and spoke to the resident who was blocking the alleyway.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of West 1st Street for a civil standby while personal items were removed from the property.
Officer was dispatched to 400 block of North Main Street, for a potential squatter in the house. House was being cleaned up by the bank who took possession of the home. No squatter was in the house.
Person turned in an ID to the police department that they found.
Officer responded to Edgewood Park for a juvenile that made comments of harming themselves. Officer located the juvenile and spoke to them and their guardian. Juvenile agreed to go with guardian to hospital for evaluation.

Officer responded to the downtown Farmer’s Market, to have a vehicle moved that was blocking the area. Owner was located and the vehicle was moved.
Officer responded to the 200 block of North Cedar Street for a juvenile with a vape.
Officer assisted Boone County Deputies with a vehicle accident on 304th Ave in the county.

Officer responded to the corner of North Union and East 1st Street, for 4 dogs running at large and jumping on people walking down the sidewalk. Officer located the owner of the dogs who has already secured them in the house.
