
The Ogden baseball team dropped both games of a West Central Activities Conference doubleheader against Des Moines Christian Thursday, June 25, at Ogden High School.
Game 1: Des Moines Christian 9, Ogden 4
The Bulldogs lost, 9-4, in the opener
Ogden was led by Colson Carson, who collected two hits, scored twice, and added a double.
Brody Burdette also had two hits and an RBI, while Christian Thede added two hits.
CeJay Jones contributed a hit and an RBI, and Treyton Mitchell added a run scored and an RBI.
Keagan Ristvedt also crossed the plate, while Thomas Bergstrom chipped in with a hit.
Hunter Mitchels took the loss, striking out one batter in his start.
Ryder Hamil recorded three strikeouts in relief.
Game 2: Des Moines Christian 9, Ogden 1
Des Moines Christian completed the sweep in the nightcap, pulling away for a 9-1 win.
Ristvedt led Ogden at the plate with two hits and a stolen base.
Mitchell added a hit and an RBI, while Carson recorded a hit and scored the Bulldogs’ lone run.
Thede, Burdette, and Jones each contributed a hit in the loss.
Bergstrom got the start on the mound and struck out four batters but was saddled with the loss.
Burdette came on in relief and recorded two strikeouts.
With the sweep, Ogden falls to 11-14 overall and 8-11 in the conference.
Des Moines Christian improves to 17-6 overall and 15-2 in conference play.
Ogden will host Avoca-Hancock-Shelby-Tenant-Walnut, which comes in with an 11-10 record, in a non-conference matchup tonight at Ogden High School.
