The Ogden baseball team had a seventh-inning rally to slip past Madrid, 4-3, Monday, June 8, in a West Central Activities Conference matchup.
The Bulldogs and Tigers were locked in a scoreless battle through three innings before Ogden finally broke through in the top of the fourth.
Ogden scratched across another run in the sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead, but Madrid responded in a big way in the bottom half of the inning.
Suddenly, Madrid was ahead 3-2.
But Ogden had one more push left.
In the top of the seventh, the Bulldogs rallied, scoring two runs to reclaim a 4-3 advantage.
Colson Carson dominated on the mound and led the offense as well.
He earned the win, striking out 12 Madrid batters.
Carson also finished with two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
Brody Burdette chipped in with a hit and an RBI, while Keagan Ristvedt and Ryder Hamil each added a hit.
For Madrid, Kolbie Owens drove in all three runs as part of a two-hit night that included a double.
Kole Deppe and McCoy Cooley each contributed a hit for the Tigers.
The Tigers also saw a strong start from Levi Kockler, who struck out seven over six innings.
Owens, who came on in relief, was tagged with the loss despite recording a strikeout.
With the win, Ogden improves to 5-8 on the season, while Madrid drops to 5-3.
Both teams return to conference action tonight.
Madrid hits the road to face Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (3-6), while Ogden will host Panorama (1-9).
