
The Ogden softball team used a pair of big innings and a strong pitching performance to secure a 9–2 victory over Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in West Central Activities Conference softball action Tuesday, June 16, at Ogden High School.
Ogden got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning before ACGC answered in the third to tie the game at 1–1.
The Bulldogs responded in the fourth, scoring four runs to take a 5–1 lead.
ACGC added a run in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to 5–2, but Ogden quickly answered.
The Bulldogs scored four more runs in the bottom half of the inning to put the game out of reach.
Ogden’s offense was paced by Grace Christensen, who went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBI, and a run scored, and she also added two stolen bases.
Sophie Seligman contributed one hit, drove in two runs, scored once, and stole three bases.
Dakota Jones added a hit and two RBI while scoring a run, and Aubrey Leonard finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored.
Other contributions came from Harleigh Janssen, who hit a double and drove in a run, while Adi Banks and Clara Kruse each scored in the win.
Katie Wilcoxson earned the complete-game victory, and she recorded eight strikeouts and limited ACGC to two runs.
The Bulldogs improved to 12–10 overall, 6–7 conference, and ACGC fell to 3–13 overall and 1–9 in the conference.
Ogden will have a non-conference matchup on the road against Nodaway Valley (7–7) tonight.
