
The Ogden softball team has settled in at 5-5 on the season with two victories at its home tournament over the weekend.
ACGC 6, Ogden 5
The Bulldogs were tested Monday, June 1, falling in a narrow 6-5 decision to Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in West Central Activities Conference play.
Clara Kruse led the way with two hits, an RBI, and a stolen base, while Dakota Jones added an RBI double.
Harleigh Janssen drove in two runs.
Katie Wilcoxson handled duties in the circle, striking out four in the loss.
Ogden 12, Carroll 1
Ogden showed its offensive firepower just two days earlier at the Bob Morgan Classic Tournament on Saturday, May 30, at home.
The Bulldogs dominated Carroll in a 12-1 victory.
Christensen collected three hits, scored twice, drove in three runs, and added two stolen bases in a well-rounded effort.
Kruse earned the win and threw a complete game with three strikeouts.
Ogden 11, Southeast Valley 10
The Bulldogs also won an 11-10 thriller over Southeast Valley at the tournament.
Adi Banks delivered a huge game at the plate with two hits, including a home run and a double, while driving in three runs.
Christensen went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and three stolen bases.
Wilcoxson picked up the complete game victory, striking out four.
Earlier in the week, Ogden split a conference doubleheader with Interstate 35 on Thursday, May 28.
Game 1: Ogden 5, I-35 1
In the opener, the Bulldogs secured a 5-1 win behind Sophia Moorman, who recorded two hits, scored a run, drove in two, and stole a base.
Wilcoxson earned the complete game victory with five strikeouts.
Game 2: I-35 9, Ogden 1
Interstate 35 responded in the second game with a 9-1 win, despite two hits from Banks and an RBI from Moorman.
Kruse took the loss, striking out two.
Ogden 22, South Central Calhoun 0
The Bulldogs rolled to a 22-0 victory over South Central Calhoun Friday, May 22.
Janssen and Kruse each drove in three runs, while Sophie Seligman and Lauren Mathews added two RBIs apiece.
Wilcoxson struck out six in a complete game shutout.
Glidden-Ralson 9, Ogden 5
Ogden lost to Glidden-Ralston, 9-5, on Wednesday, May 27, where Janssen and Seligman each drove in a run.
Boone 8, Ogden 0
The Bulldogs also had a 5-inning 8-0 loss to Boone on Friday, May 29, with Janssen, Christensen, and Seligman accounting for the team’s hits.
West Central Valley 6, Ogden 4
Ogden also battled in an extra-inning contest against West Central Valley on Tuesday, May 26, falling 6-4 in eight innings.
Janssen paced the offense with three hits and an RBI.
Now sitting at 5-5, the Bulldogs return to conference play tonight, hosting Woodward-Granger (2-3) in their next West Central Activities Conference matchup.
