
BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors have received a petition with over three-hundred signatures seeking consideration of regulations or a possible one-year moratorium on any new applications to locate any data center in Boone County. Even though the Supervisors have not received any applications at this time, they did accept to petition and have indicated they will formally discuss the possible application or applications and will review the many points of concern raised by the petition.
Supervisors Scott Longhorn did say he felt the current zoning ordinance will be enough to keep any rezoning requests from gaining approval, but he did indicate an interest in continuing to investigate the concerns raised by the petition. Any additions discussions will be at a regular board meeting which are held Wednesday mornings at the Boone County Courthouse.
