The Madrid boys’ cross country team competed against a deep field at the Gilbert Invitational on Thursday, September 10, at the Iowa State Cross Country Course, finishing 15th out of 20 teams.
Madrid scored 385 points in the team standings.
Hudson White led the Tigers, placing 52nd overall in 18:01.56, and Caleb Berberich was close behind in 54th place, crossing the finish line in 18:04.57.
Kris Petersen finished 76th in 18:29.28, while Jacob Brandhorst was right behind in 77th place with a time of 18:30.58.
Isaac Boes completed Madrid’s scoring five in 21:42.50.
The Tigers received additional contributions from Sean Udelhoven in 22:28.37; Aiden Titus in 23:20.40; Aiden Firmstone in 23:52.19; and Cole Berberich in 25:30.98.
Host Gilbert captured the team title with 63 points, while Gilbert’s Logan Bleich won the individual championship in 15 minutes, 28.11 seconds.

Madrid will return to action Monday, Sept. 14, at the Ballard Invitational at Ballard Golf and Country Club in Huxley.
