
The Boone girls’ track and field team earned a share of the team championship at the Madrid Invitational with 121 points, tying Roland‑Story for first place, Tuesday, April 14.
Relay events
Boone captured first place in the 4×800-meter relay as Briella Johnson, Finley Houser, Quinn Houston and Whitney Chesnut combined for a winning time of 10:52.18.
The Toreadors placed second in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:33.09, led by Johnson, Kyra Darby, Reagan Morgan and McKenzie Klatt.
The distance medley relay of Taylor Arringdale, Avah Hayes, Houser and Reagan Morgan finished second in 4:43.64.
The sprint medley relay of Abi Leu, Maylin Griffis, Mady Davidson and Bry Morgan finished third in 2:05.20.
The 4×100-meter relay of Leu, Halle Bailey, Arringdale and Tala Wittock placed third in 53.30.
The 4×200-meter relay of Bailey, Hadley Gustafson, Klatt and Bry Morgan finished fourth in 1:59.02.
Field events
Jennifer LaMar finished in first place in the shot put with a winning throw of 37‑11.25 and later added a second‑place finish in the discus at 106‑07.
Maleah Shivers followed with a fourth‑place finish in the shot put in 36-11.25.
Halle Bailey was second in the 100-meter dash in 13.52 seconds.
Individual events
Reagan Morgan earned a runner‑up finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 12:00.83, while Houser placed third in the 1500-meter run at 5:42.45.
Boone also showed strength in the 800-meter run, where Johnson finished second in 2:32.76 and Chesnut added a fourth‑place finish in 2:39.62.
Davidson placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:16.49.
Wittrock placed fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:08.59, and Arringdale ended fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.73.
