Madrid 14, Glidden-Ralston 2
Madrid capped the week in dominant fashion with a 14–2 win on the road at Glidden-Ralston Friday, May 29.
Kole Deppe collected four hits, scoring twice, and driving in a run.
Mason Morman recorded three hits, five runs scored, and two RBIs.
Emerson Bridgewater contributed two hits and three RBIs, while McCoy Cooley added three hits and two RBIs to fuel the offensive outburst.
Bridgewater earned the win with three strikeouts.
Madrid’s offense first caught fire during a conference doubleheader against Earlham at Madrid High School, where the Tigers completed a sweep Thursday, May 28.
Game 1: Madrid 15, Earlham 11
McCoy Cooley set the tone with four hits and two RBIs, while Kolbie Owens added two hits, a double, a stolen base, one run, and three RBIs.
Deppe had two hits, two runs scored, two RBIs, and a double, and Bridgewater chipped in with two hits, two runs, and two RBIs.
Titus Rosheim closed out the game to earn the win, while Levi Kockler stuck out four in relief.
Game 2, Madrid 9, Earlham 1
The Tigers followed up with a 9-1 win in the second game.
Deppe finished with a triple, two runs scored, two RBIs, and a stolen base.
Bridgewater added a hit, run, and RBI, while Cooley drove in two runs.
Kolbie Owens delivered a strong start on the mound with seven strikeouts.
Zach Newell came in to finish the job and earned the win in relief with two strikeouts.
Woodward-Granger 8, Madrid 0
Madrid’s season began with a tough 8–0 loss to Woodward-Granger Tuesday, May 26, at home.
Bridgewater and Cooley each recorded a hit.
Bridgewater also started on the mound and struck out two in the loss.
Now sitting at 3–1 overall, Madrid will look to keep its momentum going as it heads on the road to face Panorama (0–6) in a conference matchup.
