John Roosa, Administrator, Boone County Landfill and Recycling. Roosa talks about the challenges of working to extend the life of the landfill. He points out there are other landfills in the state going through the same challenges. He says efforts are underway to try and divert as much as possible through recycling, but it will be a limited impact. He also touched on operating hours for weekends during the winter season. Eli Stines, Boone Mayor talks about the past two Council meetings. He took time to review the Special Meeting held on Tuesday, January 14th for the city’s budget. Stines noted that things went smoothly with some projected revenues expected in the next year associated with the Daisy project. The Board did set the public hearing date for the school calendar for the 25-26 school year. The proposed calendar would begin August 25th and end on June 2nd. There would be no early outs on Wednesdays. The board also approved moving ahead with YSS on an early intervention program to deal with vaping concerns among students.
